FAQ
How long does it take to build a new home? Our average home building time is 3-6 months. However, it's important to know that any number of things such as weather, special order items, and utilities can cause unforeseen delays. Can I do some of the work myself? Yes, we offer our homes to be built to many different levels of completion. We will work with the customer if they wish to only complete a few items, or many items themselves. What size homes do you build? We can accommodate your desires from the smallest to the largest of homes. How much are your homes per square foot? Twenty years ago, when most new homes were basically the same, this question could be answered fairly easily. Today, new homes have far too many variables to accurately quote by the square foot. This is why we choose to give our customers a thorough itemized cost of their home based on their exact floor plan and selected options. Yes, this takes a few days to complete but we have found that it provides our customers with an accurate price that will not suddenly change. What if I don't own any land yet? Not a problem for us. Our homes are built with much greater care towards safety, resale value, low maintenance, durability, and energy efficiency. Owner satisfaction and increase in value are additional reason for purchasing a Tony Houseman Home. Isn't it easier to just buy a house already built? A great advantage of building a Tony Houseman Home over buying an existing home is that you get exactly what you want, and you know exactly what you're getting. You are not buying someone else's problems and you have a warranty on your new home. You will also find that our new homes are built with much greater care towards energy efficiency, better air filtration & airflow, better materials, and newer components than an older home. What is the advantage of going with an established builder? Cheaper may not always be better. There are virtually hundreds of ways a builder can build the "same" home cheaper. Items such as much cheaper quality materials, not following building codes, and inexperienced labor are just a few. It's also important to think of the builder's reputation, look at what they have done, and talk to homeowners that they have worked for. (These are all items we are happy to share with you.
